We have been working very hard today and just wanted to update you on our progress. As mentioned in the previous post, getting the Bible up is our highest priority. We now have all the books up to the Book of Wisdom ready to go. That is about half the Bible already. At this rate we should hopefully have the whole Bible up in just a few short days. The progress we are making is phenomenal compared to a few years ago; we are all very excited for the launch of the site, which we have decided will be when the Bible is finished.
That's all the news for now.
Have a blessed day.

...And We're Back
It's been a few years. To be perfectly honest, almost no work at all has been done on the website during that time. I was beginning to think that this website would be a waste of time and unnecessary when held in comparison with others that are already out there and functioning just fine. The team that was working on this site were getting too busy with their own lives and had to leave the project. However, I have gathered a few other recruits and we are back and moving faster than ever. After only a day's work, we were able to finish putting up the book of Genesis and also put up the books of Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers—again, this is one day's work, whereas before, we were lucky if one chapter was put up in a day. This is some great progress. We hope to have the complete Bible up very soon!
I'm not too sure where we will go from there, but it should be pretty good. One idea that has been preying on my mind for a long time now is a website for prayer requests. I have a few ideas for how it would work, including a prayer counter. By "prayer counter," I mean a button that will be under a prayer request that keeps track of how many times that request has been prayed for; clicking the button will increment the counter. Everyone needs prayers and it is comforting to see that people are actually praying for your request. We still need to work out the details, but I hope that it would reach many people and we could have a giant prayer web of people praying for other specific people. It would be a good place to come when one needs prayers and to pray for others.
More to come includes a greater prayer library, possibly the Catechism of the Catholic Church (though this may not be for a while), and Saints. The Bible, right now, is our top priority though. The entire idea of this site came from me wanting a digital Bible, customized to my liking. After having thought about that for a while, I decided I would just make it a website and let it be open to the world. Thus, I formed a team of volunteers to help me with it. While much was done with the site with that team, not much of the Bible was put up. I appreciate all the hard work and time my old team put into this project and I respect their decisions to leave. Now I am back with a new team though and the Bible is coming up fast.
I suppose that is it for now. I apologize for seeming to repeat myself several times (I blame my cold).
Have a blessed day!

Prayers
As of late, we have not been advertising this site, but we did when we first came up with the idea. Now we want to start advertising again because now we are nearly ready to launch. If you have any prayers that you would like to be on the site, please leave them in comments below this post, or you can click here and send it directly to us. Each prayer given to us before the launch will be posted on the site in time for the launch.
Speaking of prayers, June is coming up and we would like to invite everyone to participate in a global prayer from June 1 to June 9. This year will be the first annual global prayer put together by Catholic Corner. It is a novena and we would like you to pray it each day from June 1 to June 9, praying for conversion of the entire world. You can find the novena here.
Also, don't forget to sign up for the launch of our site here. Tell all of your friends to sign up too.
Good bye for now; have a joy-filled day!

From HTML to PHP
The creation of this site is currently pretty slow (just in case you have not yet noticed). This is mostly because we want to find the best way to run the site before adding loads of information and web pages, that way if we mess up or want to fix something, we will only have to change a few pages instead of hundreds. For now we think we have found the most efficient way to run it, but it is possible that it could change in the future, not the near future though. We changed everything to PHP from HTML because PHP is easier to handle and it makes the website look better, especially in Internet Explorer, where previously everything was out of place. Now that we know how the site will be run, we can start adding more content and open the site up to the public soon. So please sign up to be notified of the launch if you haven't already and tell all of your friends to sign up to be notified too. You can sign up here.
On a side note, due to the changing from HTML to PHP, some items may have been improperly linked, so if you happen to run into a link that doesn't work or background images that don't show up or error messages appear on the page, please leave a comment below with the URL that has the problem and we will get it taken care of right away. Thank you and may you have a blessed day.

August
Hello everyone, you may have noticed lately that we haven't been advertising this site much and that is because we decided that we aren't quite ready to launch, but we will as soon as 1000 people sign up for it. We don't really want to hit that number yet because we aren't quite ready to launch yet, but please still invite your friends and neighbors and anyone you know who is Catholic to sign up. Lately it has been hard to work on the site because our team consists of less than five people. We will probably not be creating our site super fast, but probably pretty fast for how many people we have. We are also busy with other stuff because this site was made by volunteers like myself. I am probably going to be the main poster on this blog, just because I like doing these things more, but so far, here are the latest updates:
- The Bible: We have now added another chapter of the Bible, Genesis chapter 5. Now all of the Bible we have so far is just Genesis 1-5. It will grow though. Sometimes it will be slow and other times multiple chapters may be added in a day. Eventually we will have the entire Bible on this site.
- ID Numbers: We have added ID Numbers to the verses on the Bible chapters that we have up so that if you just put a # and the verse number you want at the end of the URL, it will go there for you automatically (e.g. http://catholiccorner.99k.org/mark-ch-1.html#5 will scroll to verse five of Mark Chapter one for me).
We are still working on the site search, we believe once we create and upload our sitemap that the search should search more thoroughly and give better results. We are working on creating the sitemap as well.
That is all for now, have a blessed day!

Welcome to Catholic Corner
Welcome to Catholic Corner, a corner of the internet that belongs solely to Catholics. Of course other religions are welcome here too; we love to have visitors! Here you can find prayers and the Holy Bible, and soon some other things like the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
We are currently in the very early stages of this website but we are constantly updating. Since the birth of this site on June 6th 2010, we have come a long way. Just today we implemented the news bar at the top of the page, along with the search box right above that. On almost every page, we have a Disqus commenting system for you to discuss the prayer or Bible chapter, or whatever it is. There are also like and dislike buttons on those page for the obvious reason of liking or disliking something. Today we also created a blog for this site which will mostly be used for telling you about updates made to the site. So far the updates are as follows:

Today we also created a blog for this site which will mostly be used for telling you about updates made to the site. So far the updates are as follows:
- The Bible: We have added Genesis chapters 1-4 and the title page, alas because the site has not launched yet, it is not yet viewable to the public. The Bible is an Ignatius Revised Standard Version (RSV).
- The Design: Of course the wonderful, yet simple design of the site along with the logo and icon.
- The News Bar: This can be found at the top of all the pages right underneath the logo, it will be updated frequently, letting you know the newest news about Catholic Corner and maybe some other stuff as the site progresses.
- The Search Bar: This can be found right in between the news bar and the logo. For some reason, it doesn't give you all the results you may be looking for, we are thinking it may be because our site has not been completely indexed yet, as we are still making many changes.
- Prayers: Currently we only have one prayer on our site, and that is a novena to Saint Joseph. We are planning on putting up many more prayers in the future and let you post your own; however, right now, we are more concerned with getting the whole Bible on the site, so be patient.
- The Comments Box: This can be found at the bottom of the page (under the blue box). Please feel free to leave any comments you may have about whatever you are viewing. Please note that inappropriate comments will be flagged as such and furthermore, deleted.
